Dutch ABC Islands

Being part of the Caribbean islands but located just out of the usual hurricane route, these islands are a great chunk of eye candy. Beautiful clear beaches, white sand and palm trees. Great weather year round. Growing economy month after month.

Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao have a very very low homicide rate and almost no other violent crimes. Besides the occasional domestic disputes and petty thefts, it's one of the safest places in the world. You can't ask for too much more from this paradise out in the ocean.

Emerald Isle, Ireland

According to the world Mercer stats Ireland has an amazingly low rate of 0.32/100,000/365 homicide count. That's 0.32 murders per 100,000 people, per year.

So don't worry about an upset leprechaun hunting you down for your gold, and all the rumors of drunken fighting are only happening in the movies.

The most common crimes being minor petty thefts and pickpocketing thieves, but I prefer that over dead bodies throughout the neighborhood because of gangs and drug violence.

New Zealand

Being isolated from the rest of the earths population, New Zealand has a stable economy. A calm and peaceful place for all of its inhabitants, mostly rural areas but definitely beautiful all over.

Homicide rates have been cut down drastically in nearly half decade after decade, and the trend still continues downward. Currently at just above 1.2 per 100,000 people per year. With low violent crime rates, you should feel safer than ever in this scenic land far off from the rest of us.

Switzerland

Being a mix of high snowy mountains and lush green valleys throughout, Switzerland made the list not only for its scenery but for a whopping low homicide rate of 1.2 per 100,000 people per year.

Surprisingly, they also have one of the highest numbers of guns owned by population in the world, which proves they aren't the trigger happy kind. Alpine skiing and hiking along with fishing are sure to keep you busy with your peace of mind, knowing you are in one of the safest places in the world.

Plano, Texas

This big all American city is number one in the U.S. for having the lowest violent crime rate. A wealthy overall population may have something to do with it.

Despite Texas being on the border with Mexico and its reputation for being one of the most dangerous places in the world (Mexico currently holds the #1 spot for most murders and violent crimes per year in the WORLD), Plano, Texas is a long distance of over 700 km from the Texas / Mexico border.

Simply showing that High growth cities with lower unemployment rates are safer and less likely to run into crime. Makes sense to me why this is one of the safest places to live in the u.s. and in the world.

Port St. Lucie, located on the west coast of Florida is one of the safest places you can be in the sunshine state. An all time favorite for retirees which have got the sunny blue skies and the warm sandy beaches, minutes away from any location.

Fantastic weather year-round. The lowest violent crime rates in the state of Florida, and in the world are a bonus characteristic of this amazing place.

Great fishing and beautiful destinations throughout the city. Migrators to this location include more than just the birds during the winter, tourists, retirees, and international visitors are all attracted to this beautiful and safe city.
